Volunteers
The Middletown Springs Library has a generous and dedicated community of volunteers that do everything from running the circulation desk to slicing pie at fundraisers, and reading stories during story time.
We are so grateful for all of our volunteers, they make everything we do possible. We would not be the library we are without them.

We are currently looking for volunteers for:
Regular and on-call library shifts – Library shifts are (typically) 2 hours at a time. Tasks include: checking out/in library materials; shelving; tidying up; patron interactions; occasional projects (ex: covering books, preparing things for events). We are always looking for volunteers who can commit to a regular shift (ex: the 2nd Tuesday of every month from 2-4), we are also looking for more fluid volunteers who can pick up shifts as needed.
Program Development – Do you have an idea for a program that you think would work well at our library? Do you want to help plan and run it? We would love to hear your ideas. The library will provide support, supplies, additional staffing, and promotion.
Program and Event Staffing– The library has several annual fundraisers and many regular programs that we are always looking for help with. Do you want to cut pie at Pie for Breakfast? Help out at the book sale? This is a great place for people who want to help but can’t commit to something regular.
Book sorting – The library is looking for a dedicated group of book sorters to help sort and organize our book sale donations. Volunteers need to be discerning and open to working more often once the book sale gets closer.
Other needs– the library is always looking for help with various tasks, from baking treats for our events, to wrapping blind-date-with-a-book books or helping to facilitate connections with other community organizations. If you think you have something you can offer us please let us know.
